In order to participate in the NASA TechLeap Prize, you must demonstrate that you have at least $250,000 liability insurance coverage or otherwise demonstrate financial responsibility for that amount.

Per Section 11.3 of the Terms and Conditions, the insurance must:

• Provide minimum claims coverage in the amount of $250,000 USD.
• Have a policy period of date of submission through December 31, 2022.
• Insure each Challenge participant on the Team.
• Cover all claims by a third party for death, bodily injury, or property damage, or loss resulting from an activity carried out in connection with participation in the Challenge.
• Cover the Federal Government, Carrot, and all its contractors for damage or loss to Government property resulting from Challenge activities.
• Name the U.S. Government and Carrot as additional insured parties.

If activities related to the competition will occur at a residence, Teams may wish to check with their current homeowner’s insurance provider to see if the Competition activities can be covered under the current insurance policy.

If activities related to the competition will occur at a University or Corporate office, Teams may wish to contact the University or Company to see if the Competition activities can be covered under the organization’s insurance.

Competitors are required to perform their own due diligence when contracting with any insurance provider. None of the organizations involved in the NASA TechLeap Prize will be held responsible for any difficulties encountered when entering into a contract with any insurance provider.
